A plastic cigarette case specially designed for various Allied guard units during the trial of Nazi war criminals in Nuremberg. Nuremberg, 1945.
On the front appears the inscription: INTERNATIONAL MILITARY TRIBUNAL 1945 NURNBERG GERMANY; on the back, the emblem of the city of Nuremberg. Cases of this type were distributed during the trials for use by officers, journalists, administrative staff, guards, and attorneys. Soldiers from the 26th Regiment and the 102nd Infantry Division (who guarded high-profile defendants) often carried these cases, which contained Sweet Caporal cigarettes.
