15 large original and early photographs [24×18 cm] of the Brazilian world soccer star Pele. Were probably taken during training, or a training match. The photographs are from the beginning of Pele’s career in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Attached are negatives of some of the photographs. Photographs of Pele, especially from the beginning of his career, are extremely rare.

The photographs are all focused on Pele himself, while in the background of some of them other football players are seen. The camera caught him during a training session in the ‘ball jumps’, the famous overhead kick that he also performed on the soccer fields during the games, kicking the goal, and cheering for victory.

Edson Arancis do Nascimento , known as Pelé, (Born October 23, 1940) The soccer star who had a low level of scholastic achievement at school and was forced to spend most of his time playing football in the streets, working as a shoe shineman and stealing peanuts to sell them for buy football game equipment. He later became the world’s best footballer with countless world titles and was the only footballer to win three World Cups. Pele successfully played in Brazil from the 1950s until the 1970s. His success, as well as his personal abilities and style, have had a great impact on football in Brazil and throughout the world for many years. Pele won the Brazil national team in the 1958 World Cup, the 1962 World Cup and the 1970 World Cup. Throughout his career, Pele scored over a thousand goals. In his team, Brazil has held Pele to this day as the club’s all-time top scorer with 77 goals in 92 appearances. [Pele retired from football in the late 1970s].
