In those months, Hyman joined the French underground and was involved in countless rescue operations with immediate danger of death hovering over him if caught. In light of his experience in forging documents, in March 1944 Hyman was appointed head of the MLN department for forging documents of the National Liberation Movement in Paris. As part of his dangerous job, Hyman provided to countless Jews forged IDs and forged documents, He created them with ingenious use of the various pronunciations of the European languages in which he was proficient, as well as thanks to his direct acquaintance with the world of European registration, through which many Jews crossed the borders of the Reich-occupied lands into freedom.
