Maftan (Youth Employment Factory) is a network of schools aimed at “rehabilitating disconnected youth.” Maftan is designed to provide professional, therapeutic, and educational responses. The daily schedule in the schools consists of both academic studies and vocational training. The studies in the vocational tracks took place in productive learning workshops, where students learn and produce. They sell the products, and at the end of the month, they receive a salary based on their investment and the profits accumulated. (Today, 17 Maftan centers operate throughout Israel).
Photographs: 9×14 cm. Very good condition. Some of the photographs are stamped on the back with “Photo Bara.” Some of the photographs appear in duplicates.
