Early and impressive album containing a collection of 44 rare Jewish New Year postcards depicting scenes of children with Shanah Tovah greetings. Europe, early 20th century.
The album’s pages hold vividly colored and graceful greeting postcards – featuring children posing for the camera with New Year wishes. Scenes include children playing musical instruments, holding flower bouquets, umbrellas, dolls, and more. Each album page typically contains two postcards placed in its sleeves, usually grouped by similar themes.
The album’s cover is decorated with illustrations of a boy and girl playing. Most of the postcards were printed in France by local publishers.
