A collection of approximately 150 official documents and typewritten and stencil-duplicated documents dealing with the treatment of Jews affected by pogroms during World War I and the assistance in establishing a Jewish homeland in Eretz Israel. Most of them were written in 1919.
Among them: documents from various bodies of the Polish Victim’s Relief Fund, legal cases handled by the President of the United States Supreme Court Charles Evans Hughes, one of the documents is a report on the situation of Jews in Polish cities by Israel Cohen, a correspondent of the Zionist organization, documenting the pogroms against the Jews of Galicia—the looting of stores, desecration of synagogues, the pogrom in Lemberg, and more. Also included are documents related to the activities of the Jewish businessman Nathan Straus, pages related to articles that were to be published in the American press regarding the fate of the Jews of Europe, and many more. Some of the documents were written by American public figures who dealt with the Jewish problem (and are signed with their original signatures), addressing legal entities and describing to them the news of the pogroms committed against Jews during the war. Based on the content, it seems that all the documents originate from an official American source—a judge or a senator.

All the documents are organized in a binder. Very good condition.
