A table model of the monument of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising – the ‘Rappaport Monument’ – identical to the original designed which was built in the city of Warsaw in the center of the old Jewish ghetto, which was inaugurated on August 19, 1948, five years after the uprising broke out. The monument in Warsaw was created by the artist Nathan Rapoport, a native of Warsaw. A replica of the monument is located in Yad Vashem Square in Jerusalem, and is one of the recognizable symbols of the Holocaust and heroic heritage. The monument designed in Yad Vashem differs in some details from the original in Warsaw. Before us model identical to the original which was designed by Rapaport in Warsaw, including an exact copy of the black marble which was brought from Sweden on which Rapaport designed the monument, the square frame and the background.
