A wooden music box for wall hanging made by “Thorens” – On the front of the box is a colorful lithograph by Arthur Szyk describing the struggle for Israel’s independence, “Israel. New Canaan, 1948” – this is the Hebrew plate from the Visual History of Nations series. Pulling the string at the bottom plays “Hatikvah” using a spring mechanism. Switzerland, [1940s].
Wooden box: Height: 32 cm. Length: 27 cm. Width 9 cm. The string-pull mechanism and music playback work perfectly, “Hatikvah” plays in outstanding quality. Minor imperfections to the wooden panels on the right and left. Overall good condition.
