The film The Great Dictator mocks the dictatorial regimes of Europe in the 1930s and comes out especially against Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany and Benito Mussolini in Fascist Italy. The film was written and directed by Charlie Chaplin, and he even played the two main roles in it – the dictator and the Jewish barber. He also produced the film, and was also one of its original music writers.
