The massacre of the Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics was a Palestinian terrorist attack that took place on September 5-6, 1972, during the 20th Olympics held in Munich, West Germany. During the attack, eleven members of the Israeli delegation were murdered: athletes, coaches and judges of the Israeli Olympic team, by Palestinian terrorists from the “Black September” organization.
