Edelstein brothers were active in Palestine between 1893-1920. Bernard photographed around 1890 a series of villages and farms in the Land of Israel supported by Baron Edmond de Rothschild, among them Zikhron Ya’akov [which received the most extensive documentation of 15 photographs from the moshava and surrounding area], Hadera, Gan Shmuel Farm, Yesod Hama’ala and Rosh Pina. Edelstein’s photographs are rare and numbers, some of them are stored in the Zionist Archives, and the rest are in the Rishon Le-Zion archive. Size: 10×14 cm, glued to the photographer’s hard surface: 17×11 cm. Stains, fine condition.
