A unique album with 97 black-and-white photographs from Billinson Hospital – the first years of its establishment. In the album were pasted many rare photographs of the doctors and nurses, the hospital building and its surroundings, medical facilities, the various departments, Maternity ward, and more. Eretz Israel, 1938-1939.

Next to some of the photographs, a sticker was affixed with the name of the photographed doctor – of Beilinson’s senior doctors at the beginning, among them: Dr. Halbrecht, Dr. Shiber, Dr. Plusser, Dr. Suknik, Dr. Shani, Dr. Peller, Dr. Kahana , and others. Apparently the album was given as a gift to one of the hospital doctors in 1939.

The Beilinson Hospital was established between Petah Tikva and Tel Aviv at the end of 1936 with the aim of providing medical services to the settlers of the Sharon colonies. A certain part of the construction budget was a sum of money collected from the contribution of the workers of Eretz Israel who devoted two working days each to this purpose. Initially it was called the “Hospital for the Yehuda and Sharon Colonies” and included about 70 beds upon its establishment. About three weeks after its establishment, Dr. Moshe Beilinson, the initiator of the establishment of the hospital and chairman of the supervisory board of the health insurance fund, died, and the hospital was renamed after him. Today the hospital is part of the Rabin Medical Center.

Average size of the photographs 8×6 cm. Album 17×24 cm. general condition good.
