An anti-Semitic accusation claiming that Jewish money was a deliberate cause of the outbreak of World War II through a global Jewish conspiracy, alleging that Jews control the world economy and that Soviet Bolshevism, along with Anglo-Saxon elites, are part of a plot to overthrow national governments and dominate the world. This publication was used by fascist and Nazi regimes to incite hatred against Jews and justify their policies of repression and persecution. Written anonymously. Rare.
This anti-Semitic tract, published shortly after the outbreak of World War II, describes a supposed gathering of Jewish synagogues in Manchester and various Jewish committees in England, led by the Jew Leonard Berns and wealthy individuals from the Stern family in London, who organized the “Universal Peace Rally” (R.U.P.) that took place in 1936, supported by 400 million members worldwide. The rally was allegedly organized by Jews under the guise of Anglo-Saxon solidarity. The author falsely claims that the rally was supported by “high Jewish finance” and that it was actually a “universal rally for peace where speakers, paid to do so, preached war in the name of peace.”
In an attempt to persuade readers, the author tries to back up the claims with “Jewish sources”: “It is enough to draw from Jewish sources themselves, to consult the Jewish Encyclopedia, and if you are not amazed by the number of financiers mentioned in this Jewish encyclopedia, by their importance in politics, their cosmopolitanism equal to the spirit of their race; if you don’t understand, then it’s better to give up trying to understand! What stands out most in this monumental work, written solely by Jews for Jews, is the obvious pride with which Jews express their financial genius; nothing similar can be found in any other environment. We have a very curious, very rare work written also by Jews for Jews, which provides an example illustrating the thesis mentioned above…” The author quotes passages from the Jewish Encyclopedia about the wealth of the Rothschilds and Jewish control through it, allegedly written by Nathan Strauss: “Edmond de Rothschild has become a primary factor in the life of the Jewish people. And Jews around the world feel deep admiration and true affection for this man, who has rightly earned the great title of pioneer of Israel in old and new Zion… because they have always been there to protect Jewish interests and help fulfill Jewish aspirations.” The author further accuses Jews by claiming that a large part of the Bolshevik leaders were Jews and that, although the United States opposed Bolshevism on the eve of the war, it did not refrain from doing business with wealthy Jewish Bolsheviks. The author suggests that just as the political gang of the House of Rothschild caused the Boer War, so the Jewish-British-American conspiracy caused the outbreak of World War II. At the end of the text, the author writes that the booklet is not propaganda but “a work of pure truth.”
The supposed Jewish-Bolshevik connection is also implied on the cover with the depiction of a Star of David and a star against a red and white background. The ideas presented in the booklet were published in various versions during the 1920s and 1930s, with the author adapting recent events to fit the fundamental anti-Semitic claim presented within.
