CERTIFICAT DE NON APPARTENANCE A LA RACE JUIVE – Certificate of non-belonging to the Jewish race of the Jew Juliette Branza, wife of the Jewish resistance fighter Nissim Branza who immigrated from Constantinople to France. July 20, 1944. A life saving document.
A certificate from the “General Commissioner for the Jewish Question” in France attesting that the woman Juliette Branza is not Jewish. On the left top is Juliette’s passport photo, on the certificate her personal details – name, date of birth – February 5, 1882 and her passport photo. Through such documents, a small part of French Jews managed to impersonate as French or other nationals and thus be saved from death.
