An interesting collection of 21 postcards sent shortly before Rosh Hashanah, with handwritten New Year greetings from the senders on the verso. Europe and Eretz Israel – first half of the 20th century.
Among them: five postcards with New Year greetings written by students to their teacher Dov Dubin (Poland, c. 1920s): “I bless my esteemed teacher Dov Rubin with a good year, from the student Chasia Rivkes, ” as well as additional students; a postcard with a New Year greeting from Katya to Ruth Kravtsov – sent to Motza in 1927; a postcard featuring a photograph of the Kinneret farm (“Levanon” publishing) with an interesting greeting on the verso: “Take as an example the Kinneret farm – just as it has advanced forward, so you must go forward in the national work; remember these words, your friend Noah, 24 Av 1912 in our exile”; a postcard with a New Year greeting from the Tzvi HaRaven family on Shenkin Street – 28 Elul 1925; a postcard sent to Yitzchak Shimoni in the month of Elul 1942: “Would that the new year and its blessings truly begin, the time has already come…, ” and more.
