“Dachau” pendant – silver, stamped on the reverse 925. Germany, 1920s .
This ancient coat of arms appears in a collection of 8,000 heraldic emblems of cities and regions, published around 1910–1920 by A. Weller’s Verlag, Kahla, in Thuringia. It is likely that the pendant before us was produced in the 1920s, in the city of Dachau – near the location where, in March 1933, the Nazis would go on to establish the first concentration camp.
Approx. 1.5 × 1.5 cm. Very good condition.
