“Капитализам и бољшевизам живе од радничко-сељачке крви!” – “Capitalism and Bolshevism Live Off the Blood of Workers and Peasants!”, “Смрт бољшевизму!” – “Death to Bolshevism!”, “Слобода европским народима!” – “Freedom for the Peoples of Europe” – A Folded Issue of The Weekly Review Featuring Pro-Nazi Cartoons in Serbian Cyrillic (Accurately Reflecting Vernacular Speech), Supporting Nazi Germany and Opposing the Allies. Serbia, Early 1940s. Rare.

The issue depicts, through illustrations and text, the successes and victories of the Axis powers against the failures of the Allied forces. For example, the growing strength of Japanese forces: “General Koiso, ‘The Korean Tiger, ‘ has established the new Japanese government with the mission to mobilize all national forces more vigorously, on the broadest possible basis, for total involvement in the war until final victory.” Or how Nazi Germany’s tactics overpower the Allies: “The new close-combat tactics currently employed by German assault fighters are yielding excellent results. Captain Moritz’s strike group shot down 57 four-engine bombers in a single day. Four assault fighters sacrificed their lives for this success by ramming their propellers into the American four-engine aircraft’s rudder.” Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels is portrayed as a patriotic German authority figure: “On July 25, the leader of the German Reich appointed Mr. Dr. Goebbels as the Reich’s commissioner for total war involvement.” Additionally, defeatist-style illustrations depict the Allies in a negative light, and more.
