Postcards, photographs, and other paper items sent from Vienna during World War II in an attempt to locate the genius Rabbi Shmuel Hager, sent from his family to various sources. The genius Rabbi Shmuel Hager a scion of Zvaltov – Kosov Admors, whose traces disappeared during the Holocaust, and his fate is unknown to this day.
Before us: Two photographs, apparently of Rabbi Shmuel Hager himself, one when he was younger, and the other from January 1940, wearing a Streamel and holding a book – apparently the last photograph taken in his life, two postcards sent from Vienna by his family (the surname Hager appears in all of them) in 1942 in an attempt to find him – with Nazi ink stamps, a postcard sent to Rabbi Shmuel Hager in Vienna in 1925, referring to his Torah writings [Hebrew written], letters and other documents written during the Holocaust in an attempt to find him.
The Genius Rabbi Samuel Hager: Born in 1903, the only son of Rabbi Gershon Av Beit Din twist, married Rachel the daughter of the Rebbe of Sambur. One of the greatest scholars of Vienna, a disciple of Rabbi Avraham Aryeh Rosen, Rabbi of Poltusan in Romania. Descendant of the family of the Admor Rabbi David Hager of Zavlatov (founder of the Hasidic and First Admor). As mentioned, Disappeared during the Holocaust years.
