Early Anti-Semitic Letterhead in a Foldable Postcard Format – Caricatures and Propaganda Promoting Patriotic Loyalty to National Principles and Warning Against the Influence of Revolutionary Anarchist and Communist Propaganda Represented by the Jew. France, Between the Two World Wars.

The caricatures, illustrated in the colors of the French flag, depict Jean Prolo, a symbol of French patriotism, expelling a Jewish figure representing anarchy from France. On the left side, scenes of destruction, fires, and red flags (a symbol of anarchy) are depicted, labeled “Destruction, Looting, Poverty”, all led by a bourgeois Jewish figure. On the right side, contrasting scenes depict order, labor, production, and economic prosperity, encouraging the reader to choose prosperity over anarchy by expelling the Jewish anarchist.

On the back of the letterhead, the right side is left blank for writing, while the left side contains text identifying “enemies”—foreign occupiers and foreign ideologies such as Bolshevism—alongside a warning against propaganda or ideologies that could undermine national values. The text is presented in poetic format, expressing the dilemmas faced by the French worker—how to act, remain loyal to the values of labor, and avoid negative influences such as Bolshevik propaganda. The expulsion of anarchists from the country is emphasized, with the central message promoting loyalty to the state and patriotic principles while cautioning against external or revolutionary propaganda.

Size: 30×20 cm (opened). Folding and mailing instructions printed along the edges of the letterhead. Condition: Good – Very Good.
