Handwritten Notes by Ben-Zion Dinur (Signed Twice) on Keren Hayesod, a Rabbi’s Sermon on the Importance of Establishing a Jewish Bank in Eretz Israel, and a Speech by a Veteran Chovevei Zion Member Following the 1921 Riots.

These handwritten notes cover three main topics:

Keren Hayesod – “Keren Hayesod is the institution that must bring to light the national political will of the Jewish people… This fund also serves as a central national organization for the building of the nation… The organization of Keren Hayesod must penetrate all circles and all communities…”

Summary of a Sermon by Rabbi M. L. at the Great Synagogue in Vilna (1900) on the importance of founding a Jewish bank in Eretz Israel.

A Speech by a Veteran Chovevei Zion Member Following the 1921 Jaffa Riots (Given in the Streets of Odessa) – emphasizing how tragedies and disasters ultimately contribute to the success of the Zionist movement.

Ben-Zion Dinur (Dinaburg) [1884–1973] A leading Jewish historian, educator, and politician, Dinur was a professor of Jewish history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, a member of the First Knesset for Mapai, and served as Israel’s Minister of Education. He was one of the founders of Yad Vashem and its first chairman, as well as a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The Dinur Center for Research in Jewish History is named in his honor.
