Introduction page by Yitzhak ben Avraham Katz, in which he expresses the deep connection between the biblical Land of Israel and the regenerating land in the 20th century.. The first illustration in the booklet – a basket containing the seven species under a palm tree – was chosen to serve as a symbol of the Volcanic Center (Agricultural Research Administration).
The naturalist Aharon Halevi (1887-1957) was one of the first painters of the flora and fauna of the Land of Israel. In the years 1912-1914 he worked at Bezalel.
