Five difficult-to-view photographs from the Dachau concentration camp in Germany.

Photographs: Inmates bringing a body to the crematorium, inmates dragging a body, the bodies of those who perished as found by Allied forces on the day of the camp’s liberation.

On April 29, 1945, the Dachau concentration camp was officially liberated by the U.S. military, which accepted the surrender of camp commander Heinrich Wicker and released the prisoners. Dachau was one of the first concentration camps whose atrocities were exposed to the world in the media, in first-hand journalistic reports and through The news diaries.

Three photographs in size: 14×9 cm. Two in size: 8×12 cm. The photographs are depicted on their backs in handwriting. Very good condition.
