KRIEGSERINNERUNGEN Album – War Memories. An album with 134 private photographs glued onto its pages, belonging to a German soldier from the 12th Army. The photos are from the Nazi-occupied countries in the Balkans, including Greece, Yugoslavia, and other occupied territories. On the page dedicated to photographs from the city of Belgrade (Serbia), a train can be seen with the inscription: “Fur Juden verboten” – “Forbidden to Jews.” The album is in excellent condition.
This photo album belonged to a German soldier from the 12th Army in the Balkans. It includes photos he took along his journey, showing various “ethnic groups” in Romania, Nazi soldiers in “field service” and training before deployment to different fronts, scenes from the Nazi occupation of Greece – landscapes, sites, and people from cities like Thessaloniki, Athens, and other cities, and views from various cities in Yugoslavia. On the page featuring photographs from the city of Belgrade (Serbia), a train is shown with the inscription: “Fur Juden verboten” – “Forbidden to Jews.” All the photos are described in neat handwriting within the album. At the beginning of the album, there is a photograph of the Nazi soldier next to a map of the occupation. At the end of the album, various banknotes are pasted.
