Four rare New Year postcards – scenes of children surrounded by an abundance of gold coins – a visual blessing for prosperity in the coming year, accompanied by “L’Shanah Tovah” greetings.
Produced using a special printing technique: the coins depicted on the postcards are slightly raised above the surface and shimmer like real gold. All postcards were printed in Germany, early 20th century.
All were postally used between 1913 and 1921 – bearing American postmarks and stamps, with handwritten messages on the reverse by the senders.
