G-d and the Jews a Study in the Problem of Human Relationships – By Glanville Reginald. Published by Epworth Press. London, 1947 – Dedicated and Signed by the Author. A Complete Copy with the Original Dust Jacket.
“This book is an attempt to answer three questions: How can we explain the suffering of the Jews? How can we explain their survival through centuries of such suffering? By what means can we hope to bring an end to this suffering?” (from the introduction).
This is a sympathetic publication written by a non-Jewish author with the aim of finding a humane solution to the persecution of the Jewish people. In his book, the author suggests that those who have built their identity on hatred of the Jews should let go of that hatred and focus on building their own identity independent of anti-Jewish sentiment. He advocates for accepting the Jewish people as equals among the nations with love and warmth, in accordance with the basic principles written in the Bible, arguing that history has shown that the suffering of the Jews not only fails to annihilate them but strengthens them even more.
The author has written several books on Jewish-Christian relations.
