German failures in Poland. Natural obstacles to Nazi population policy - An English report in the midst of World War II on German imperialism and its true intentions of conquering the world and complete Germanization of all of Poland - published by Polish Research Centre, London 1942 - first edition.
A publication that came out in London in the midst of World War II, exposing the true imperialist intentions of Germany, and showing how the actions it is taking in the war stem from an overall view of conquest, and not from a war strategy stemming from prior calculations as the Germans tried to present. The author quotes many district governors in Germany on how they spoke about the invasion of Poland that was meant to expand the borders of the Reich: "The idea of the national socialist territory differs from that of plutocrats... it stretches further than the area... For the Great German Reich whose borders have not yet been determined by the Führer...". Another quote that appeared in the German press in November 1940: "One thing is certain in the future of this country, down to the last hut it must be settled only by Germans...". He also cites Arthur Greiser saying: "In ten years there will not be a plot of land here that is not German. Every house will belong to German settlers. They are already on their way from all districts of the Reich, from the Baltic states, Lithuania, Romania, Russia and Tyrol to settle in this area. They are coming down here one by one to wage a merciless struggle against the peasants...".
The second part of the report deals with the Germanization undertaken in Poland from 1939 - Poles deported en masse and Germans settling in their place. Polish property is confiscated, and Germans inherit their lands. Many numerical data are presented regarding the deportation of Poles, and two maps depicting the distribution of the population. The author reports on a Nazi plan to transfer 60,000 families from Baden and 50,000 families from Württemberg to areas of Poland. According to the report, Himmler himself oversees this Germanization of Polish territory, and the Nazis' ultimate plan is to leave Poland completely empty of Poles.
The purpose of the report was to present the truth that there is no restraint on the German plan for total takeover and erasure of the conquered peoples, and to spur the nations of the world not to believe Hitler's and his men's lies that the war was meant to serve strategic needs arising from the temporary balance of power between the superpowers.
