The photograph features rabbis and prominent figures from the religious Zionist movement in Eastern Galicia. This landmark conference marked a key moment in the organization and mobilization of Mizrachi Zionism in the region, especially in the aftermath of World War I and the formation of the Second Polish Republic. The Lemberg conference aimed to: Establish a local Mizrachi leadership in Eastern Galicia, Promote religious-Zionist education in the region, Develop branches of religious youth movements such as Tzeirei Mizrachi and HaHalutz HaMizrachi, Discuss practical steps for aliyah (immigration to the Land of Israel) and the movement’s role in building life there.
