Hitler Skridt for Skridt 1933-1939 – Hitler Step by Step 1933-1939. An Early Pamphlet Exposing Adolf Hitler’s Great Lies in His Speeches from 1933-1939 Regarding Domestic and Foreign Policy, the Lies About Nazi Racial Doctrine, His Intentions for War, Harm to Innocent Civilians, and More. Published by Povl Branner [1939-1940]. Danish.

The pamphlet quotes excerpts from Hitler’s speeches as Chancellor of the German Reich, in which he made numerous promises and spread lies, all of which he ultimately broke. For example:”As we consider the sacrifices made in the last war, we want to be true friends of peace, which will finally be able to heal the wounds that everyone has suffered.” (Potsdam, March 21, 1933), “Germany is convinced that today there is only one great task, and that is to ensure world peace… The German people have no thoughts of attacking any nation.” (Berlin, May 17, 1933), “There are Germans and Poles in Europe, and they live together in harmony…” (Berlin, October 1933), “We do not want to interfere with the rights of others, to be a terror to other people’s lives… or to oppress other people.” (Lippe, January 14, 1934). Also included is a quote from Hitler’s famous deceptive speech regarding his intentions to annex Austria: “Germany does not plan nor want to interfere in the internal affairs of Austria, to annex Austria, or to impose Anschluss.” (Berlin, May 21, 1935).

The pamphlet also exposes Hitler’s lies regarding Nazi racial doctrine:

“The National Socialist racial doctrine and the science upon which it is based do not mean that one looks down on other peoples or despises them, but rather that one has natural respect for the lives and characteristics of other peoples. It relieves the foreign policy effort from any attempt to dominate others or incorporate them merely as a numerical mass into our nation. The New German Reich actually has no other desire in its relations with other peoples and states than to live with them in peace and friendship. We are convinced that once again it must be possible in this world to discuss situations in the lives of nations without immediately thinking of the use of force.” (Munich, February 24, 1938).

The pamphlet further includes quotations from Hitler’s deceptive speeches about his intentions to invade Poland: “We are not interested in oppressing other countries. We do not want to see other peoples within us; we want to live our lives, and we want other peoples to do the same… Germany and Poland are two nations, and these peoples will live, and neither will be able to eliminate the other.”

Lies regarding “world peace”: “Overall, we have only one wish, that in the coming year, we may perhaps make our contribution to this general pacification of the entire world…” (Berchtesgaden, January 1, 1939),

“Only the war speculators think there will be a war, I think there will be a long period of peace.” (Berlin, January 30, 1939).

One of Hitler’s greatest lies came in his speech after the outbreak of the war, regarding his intentions to harm civilian populations: “I do not want a war against women and children, I have instructed my air forces to limit themselves to attacks on military targets.” (Berlin, September 1, 1939), and many more.
