A rare photograph showing Russian soldiers alongside members of the Jewish community in Rowna, Volhynia’s largest provincial city. Photographed in the month of Elul – September 1916. It is described on the back in pencil: “Interior of the great Syagogue. Celebration with the participation of the military authorities 1916 Elul”.
