Ir David, on matters of calculation of the end of the days, by Rabbi David HaCohen of Vilna. Jerusalem, 1881. First edition. Printed by Yitzchak Gashtsinni. Behind the title page is a printed dedication from the author, with a handwritten fill-in, “To the honor of the dear Rabbi the Wise “Karel Wartelzeiin”, and blessing Shana Tova printed.
The book was written against the the people who calculate the kitzin (the end of the days to come) that rely on verses to say every year that the end of the days has come and the same year the Mashiach come. The author shows that in every year there are verses that teach about the end as well as verses that teach about a different year, and thus the Kitzin calculators will stop their miscalculations.
S. Halevi 376.
