GLI ITALIANI NEI CAMPI DI CONCENTRAMENTO IN FRANCE - Italians in concentration camps in France - Early publication at the beginning of World War II exposing French crimes against Italian prisoners taken to concentration camps in France. Accompanied by Dozens historical documents and photographs revealing unknown documentation of the use of concentration camps in the early stages of the war, torture and death. Published by Società Editrice del Libro Italiano, Rome, 1940 - first edition.

The Third French Republic (1871–1940) set up detention camps for Spanish refugees fleeing the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939). Following a ban on the activities of the Communist Party of France (PCF) by the government of Edouard Daladia, the camps were used to detain communist political prisoners. The Third Republic also banned German anti-Nazis (Before the conquest of France by the Germans of course). The publication before us claims that there was an organized and wild hunt for Italians from all walks of life in Tunisia and other French-controlled countries - educated and common people, on ideological grounds. The prisoners are taken to concentration camps where mass infection is intentionally committed, torture aimed at driving the prisoners insane, and death. The purpose of the French is to extort a declaration of allegiance to France from as many Italians as possible, it was argued. The introduction to the book by ALESANDRO PAVOLINI reads: "These pages cry out for revenge! But we do not want revenge, we demand that France be returned to its natural borders ... and leave the Italians to their own ...".

452 p. 24 cm. Perfect copy with the original illustrated paper cover. Cutting top leaves in red. Good condition.
