The beginnings of Moinest Judaism in the first half of the 18th century. The Jewish community in Moinest was organized in 1885 and included five synagogues, Mikveh Tahara, a boys school, founded in 1893 and a girls’ school, founded in 1896. At the end of the 19th century, the “love brothers” and “fraternity flags” were founded in Moinest to help the poor and the sick. From Moineşti came the first immigrants pioneered the establishment of Rosh Pina, among them David Shov and Mordechai Bernstein came from Moinest. The Jews of Moineşti were among the followers of Rabbi Yitzchak Friedman of Buhuşi.
