Grund-u.Haus Eigentum SACHSEN Größte Hausbesitzerzeitung Deutschlands – The German newspaper issue: “Land and Home: Property, Saxony’s Largest Newspaper for Homeowners in Germany” (published in Dresden), dated November 15, 1938, declaring “Jews Out!” and urging Germans, as part of the Nazi regime’s exclusion policy, not to rent homes to Jews – five days after Kristallnacht. German.

The issue opens with the main editorial titled “Juden raus!” (“Jews Out!”) and refers to the death of German diplomat Ernst vom Rath, who was shot by the Jewish teenager Herschel Grynszpan in an incident that triggered Kristallnacht a few days earlier:
“The Jews committed the ultimate brutal attack on a German comrade serving abroad in a leading position to affect the entire German nation. They must and will receive the response they deserve! But we, the household residents, want to do our part to ensure that the Jewish question in National Socialist Germany is finally resolved as quickly as possible.” The next subheading reads:
“No More Jewish Tenants in German Homes!” – this property-focused issue calls on its German readers to refrain from signing rental agreements with Jews from this point forward, to cancel existing rental contracts, and to “remove Jewish tenants from apartments in properties owned by their German compatriots.” It also refers to an old regulation by the Berlin Regional Court dated July 7, 1936. The issue preaches that
“terminating a lease agreement with a Jew is justified by healthy popular sentiment and serves the overwhelming interest of the public.” Under the headline “The Court Approved This, ” the article explains that since the Nuremberg Laws were enacted on September 5, 1935, Germany had completely changed its legal perspective, establishing a clear distinction between Aryans and non-Aryans in all public domains. As a result, standard lease agreements were invalidated. According to Nazi racial theory, shared households were portrayed as being at risk of extinction, making it impossible to maintain coexistence between individuals
“alien in nature, importance, and positions.” The article further claims that the fact that German and Jewish citizens lived together endangered the “household community, ” making it “impossible.” Consequently,
“it can no longer be expected of a German homeowner to host a Jewish family in his home.”

The issue cites legal precedents and decisions by Nazi judges advocating for the termination of lease agreements between Germans and Jews, citing detailed racist and anti-Semitic arguments. It further recommends readers purchase the “German Standard Lease Book, ” which contains important instructions “to protect German tenants and landlords” from Jews. Another article, titled “Eger – Cornerstone of the Empire – From the History of a Town in Sudeten Germany” by Fritz Heinz Reimsch, accuses Jews of destroying the German economy and corrupting traditional Gothic construction through “style mixing” (alluded to by a photo on the cover showing the entrance to the Freiberg Cathedral). The issue combines daily topics with toxic propaganda – reporting on housing issues, gardening, and urban maintenance. It includes a Q&A section on housing matters, a piece on gardening, regulations for garbage collection and sewer system maintenance, notices about road closures, advertisements for German businesses, and more.
