Letter on postcard handwritten and signed by Yosef Luzzatto, Padova 1892
In his letter, Luzzatto writes that he can not send him the Dukes because his brother burned them with fire (he refers to Yehuda Leib Dukes 1810-1891, a member of the Wisdom of Israel and the Jewish Enlightenment), and asks him to send the book “Grammar of the Babylonian Talmud ” Printed in Strasbourg in 1880, and they also requested that he send him the book Tanya Granati printed in Warsaw and the signature of “Your friend Joseph Luzzatto.”
There are those who claim that the scholar Yitzhak Stanov would have signed his name ‘Yosef Luzzatto’. According to the contents of the postcard we have to assume that there is a basis for this.
