A historic letter in stencil printing to the ‘LeAsirino’ Society from ‘Citizens Camp of the State of Israel in British arrest in the Exile of Kenya’, concerning arranging the return of the prisoners to Israel signed by the camp’s representative Aryeh Mahulal, two weeks after the declaration of independence of israel. 27/5/1948.

In the letter, the exiles announced that an official admission had been received from the British that by June 15 they would be on their way to Palestine and that the representative of the Red Cross from Geneva, Mr. Coctricks, would come to accompany them. However, the detainees express their fear of last-minute disruption: “Considering the announcement we received yesterday and our desire not to enter into additional complications at this time, it was decided to continue a regular life and a full co-operation with the authorities. If at a certain time we hear nothing from Mr. Coctricks or you, We’ll think of further.’ It is also added that the planned trip to Israel will be airborne and wish to broadcast a request of peace through Kol Yisrael broadcasts, which are well received in Kenya, and conclude with the blessing of ‘Victory for all Israel in Israel’.

The second page contains a translation of Kol Reiss’s statement to the camp representative.
