Life, Struggle and Uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto – לעבן קאמף און אויפשטאנד אין ווארשעווער געטא Published by YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, New York, 1963. English and Yiddish.
An Important Booklet Accompanying an Exhibition Held by the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research on Life and Resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1963. The Exhibition was Dedicated to the Countless Defenseless Jews of Warsaw Who Suffered, Were Executed, and Sacrificed Themselves for the Sanctification of God’s Name. The exhibition was primarily based on the extensive collections preserved in the YIVO archives, as well as on Nazi propaganda films kept at the institute, and many materials from libraries in London and Israel. The booklet provides a comprehensive overview of Jewish Warsaw up to World War II, the outbreak of the war and its occupation, the establishment of the ghetto, life within the ghetto, mass deportations to extermination, the ghetto after the mass deportations, the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the destruction of the ghetto, and memorials. The exhibition also included the screening of a Nazi documentary film and, for the first time, new information was presented about Jews who managed to hide on the Aryan side and were discovered only after the war.
