Uniformfibel Von Geschichtsmaler Knötel d. I. Verlag Offene Worte”, Berlin – Uniform Guide by historical illustrator Herbert Knötel the Younger, published by Offene Worte. An early, color-illustrated guide depicting the various types of uniforms, flags, ranks, and symbols of the Third Reich. Berlin, December 1933. Extremely rare.
Illustrated guide to the various types of uniforms, flags, ranks, and symbols of the Third Reich – including detailed illustrations of the Wehrmacht (armed forces) uniforms, SS, SA, Nazi political organizations, Hitler Youth and Jungvolk, Voluntary Labor Service, imperial flags, command flags, service flags, and more. The text is printed in German, in Gothic script. This is one of the earliest guides published after Hitler’s rise to power, during the first months of Nazi rule in Germany, at a time when the regime was beginning to establish and formalize its military and political institutions.
“The publisher is especially pleased to present this book to the public. The most important uniforms of the Third Reich are included. In addition to the armed forces of the Reichswehr and Reichsmarine, as well as the police, it primarily features the uniforms and rank insignia of political organizations. This comprehensive book also casually includes the main imperial and state authorities… We are confident that these color images will be very well received, especially by the youth. Berlin, December 1933″ (From the publisher’s foreword).
Extremely rare. Only one copy recorded in the WorldCat global library catalog, held at Yale University Library in the United States.
