A rare passport photograph of the Holy Rebbe Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Halberstam of Sanz-Zmigrad, signed with an original ink stamp from his personal identity card.

It is known that the Rebbe rarely photographed, and his photos are considered rare.

The Rebbe Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Halberstam [1912 -2007] Rebbe of Chassidut Sanz-Zemigrad. Born in the city of Zmigrad to Ruhama and Rabbi Sinai Halberstam, son of Rabbi Baruch Halberstam of Gorlitz. He was a disciple of the head of the court of Tchibin in Galicia, Rabbi Dov Barish Weidenfeld and also studied for about three years at the yeshiva of Chachmei Lublin where he was the distinguished student of Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin. When World War II broke out, he fled with his father to the city of Lviv, which was then under the control of the Soviet Union. The father and son, along with half a million other Jews, were exiled by the authorities to Siberia and thus his life was saved from extermination in the Holocaust. In Siberia, he was saved from forced labor by his phenomenal ability to raise his heart rate proactively, and was thus released from work by the doctor. When he was released from the labor camp after the war, he immigrated to the Eretz Israel and settled in the city of Petach Tikva where he founded the Beit Midrash ‘Divrei Haim’. Later he moved to Jaffa and over the years moved to Bnei Brak. authored the seven-volume book series ‘Aryeh Sha’ag’.
