Description of Paul Lucas’ voyage to Greece, Turkey, the Levant and Egypt as part of three voyages he made between 1699-1717. His study is considered to be the earliest description of Upper Egypt, the Nile and the Cataract (in one of the maps the author drew himself ascending the Nile). In the second volume, Lucas describes Jerusalem, Persia, Egypt and Fayyum, as well as the Tunis region, while also referring to the political situation between the various countries. In both volumes are many engravings of landscapes, people, and objects, from the cities he visited on his journey.
