Perek Eliyahu – Perek Shirah. Lviv, 1783 – Second edition, with the commentary Sogah BaShoshanim and additions not included in the first edition. Two parts bound in one volume. From the classical works of Hebrew grammar, poetry, and liturgy.

By Rabbi Eliyahu HaLevi Ashkenazi, known as Rabbi Eliyahu Bachur (ca. 1469–1549), renowned rabbi, linguist, grammarian, and commentator who was active in Italy and Germany during the Renaissance. He served as a proofreader at the Bomberg Press and was among the first to compose literature in Yiddish. He held rabbinical positions in Padua and Rome. He was the subject of controversy among several rabbis who opposed his teaching of Hebrew to non-Jews. They argued that the knowledge of Hebrew was being used by non-Jews to attack the Talmud. In response, he maintained that everyone he taught was a person who had shown goodwill toward the Jewish people, and that he taught them only the Hebrew language – not the hidden teachings of the Torah.
