As they matured, members of the Hitler Youth were required to serve in the Reich Labor Service (RAD). Their duties included infrastructure projects, such as road and canal construction and agricultural labor, intended to instill the “virtue of labor.” The RAD also played a key role in the spread of Nazi ideology, organizing marches, participation in state ceremonies, sports events, and military-style training, including competitions, field exercises, summer camps, lectures, and indoctrination sessions on Aryan racial superiority and loyalty to the Führer. The Reich Labor Service functioned as a transition stage between youth activities and life as soldiers in the military and war service of the Third Reich.
Most photographs measure 8×7 cm, with some larger ones. Overall good condition.
