Rachel Yanait Ben-Zvi [1886–1979] was a writer and educator, trained as an agronomist. A leading figure in the Labor Movement, an active participant in Jewish self-defense during the pre-state period, and a prominent public figure in the State of Israel. She was the wife of Israel’s second president, Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, and was awarded the Israel Prize in 1978 for her special contribution to society and the state.
