Rare Antisemitic Pin – Jew crushed to death under clamps on half a frame forming the letter U and to the right the letter Q. Europe, c. 1940s.
The code UQ used by antisemites refers to Unwanted Quisling. The term derived from Vidkun Quisling, the Norwegian collaborator who betrayed his country during World War II and established a pro-Nazi puppet government – and it was borrowed by antisemites as a derogatory term for anyone undesirable who betrays. Antisemites often used encoded language and symbols to conceal the true meaning.
Extremely rare. We did not find another example of this pin in museums or important collections.
2.5×2 cm. Very good condition.
