12 illustrated postcards depicting scenes of Jewish customs and holidays – from the works of the Jewish artists Alphonse Lévy and Moritz Daniel Oppenheim. Some were published in Paris. Early 20th century.

Postcards include: Yom Kippur, Bar Mitzvah, Ḥanukkah, Shabbat – one sent by mail from Nancy to the Kahn family in Paris: “Dear Kahn family. As promised, I am sending you, in ‘print, ’ the twenty cards I spoke to you about, with the greeting ‘Gut Shabbes’ (Shabbat Shalom).” Also includes a postcard with a wedding scene – sent by mail to a recipient named Robert Bloch in Paris, with the sender’s message reading: “Dear Roro. I wish you a happy Shavuot. I suppose that ‘Yetti’ will go pray at the ‘shul’ (synagogue)! In your Bar Mitzvah year, you must fulfill all your religious duties. A thousand kisses to all of you, dear Parisians. Maurice.” And more.

Two of the postcards were sent by mail. One is a double. ” Very good condition.
