She’agat Aryeh – Responsa on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim, by the holy Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Leib Ginzburg, Av Beit Din of Metz. Frankfurt an der Oder, 1756 – First edition published during the author’s lifetime.

The first book of the author of She’agat Aryeh, through which he became renowned as a great Torah scholar throughout the Jewish world, leading to his appointment as rabbi of Metz, succeeding the Gaon Rabbi Yonatan Eybeschutz. Due to the high cost of printing, the author initially published the book with 103 simanim (sections) out of 108, including corrections on the final page. Such an edition was in the possession of Rabbi Akiva Eiger, who referred to Siman 103 and wrote “in the last responsum.” Later, the author printed five additional simanim and appended them to the book. The present copy, like the original editions, does not include the added pages.Ownership inscription on the title page (unidentified).

The author also wrote Turei Even, novellae on three tractates: Rosh Hashanah, Chagigah, and Megillah; and Gevurot Ari, novellae on the tractates Taanit, Yoma, and Makkot (with partial commentary on Beitzah and Nazir).
