Bericht des Verbandes Judischer Frauen fur Kulturarbeit in Palastina – Report of the Jewish Women’s Union for Cultural Work in Palestine. Issues 1, 2, 6, Berlin 1909-1914, bound.
Three booklets published by an association of Jewish women in Germany which aims to improve the plight of Jewish women in the Land of Israel. The organization was founded in The Hague in 1907, and it was expanded to local groups in Berlin, Hamburg, Breslau, Munich, Cologne, Königsberg, and other cities in Germany. In its first years, the organization managed to establish a community clinic in Jaffa which treated various health problems, especially the malaria disease that was spreading in the Land of Israel at the time and eye diseases. In addition, the association sent nurses to treat patients in hospitals in Jerusalem and in Haifa. The association even established several workshops for learning art in Jaffa and other cities for members of all ethnicities – one of the first of its kind to be established in the Land of Israel. The brochures extensively review the association’s activities.
