The Bloody Record of Nazi Atrocities – Edited by Jow Weil. Published by Arco Publishing Company – New York, 1944 – Only edition. A rare publication about the atrocities committed by the Nazis in the occupied countries, accompanied by harsh photos and illustrations by A.M. Froehlich. A detailed documentation of the Nazi plan for the extermination of the Jews of Europe and its implementation, written in real time — while most of the extermination camps were still operating. Extremely rare.

A detailed report on the “Slaughterhouses for Human Beings” — facts about how the Nazis carried out mass murder of Jews in Poland, in Dachau, Lublin, Auschwitz, Sobibor, Treblinka, and Majdanek: planned mass murders, starvation, gas chambers, crematoria, shootings and hangings, barbaric Nazi tortures, and documentation of Nazi crimes in Greece, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Yugoslavia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Belgium, Norway, and more.
The report opens with quotes from Adolf Hitler himself regarding his intention for extermination: “The basis of my plan is blood and fire… I hate everything that is spirit and humanity.” It describes the plan for the extermination of the Jews as it was conceived by the highest ranks of the Nazi Party from the early 1930s until its execution in the death camps, highlighting the horrifying fact that the Nazis made the annihilation of the Jews their supreme goal, even above the war effort itself, with most supplies, including hundreds of freight cars and manpower, allocated to the collection and deportation of Jews to their deaths, even during the most critical times of Germany’s military effort. It shows the German “systematic” nature in the Final Solution plan by noting that all camps were similarly designed, and that the fate of the Jews deported to the camps was the same — constant starvation, sleep deprivation, disease, forced labor, and death. The report details the various methods of torture used by the Nazis in each camp, as well as the “scientific” experiments carried out on the bodies of prisoners. These sections are emphasized in the original booklet. The report also provides a detailed account of the operation of the gas chambers in Majdanek, from the entry of the victims, their killing by gas, to the final cremation of the bodies. Furthermore, it documents the Nazi crimes in the cities of Poland themselves — mass slaughters of Jewish communities, mass executions of women and children near their homes, herding Jews into wooden structures and burning them alive, and more.

On one of the pages appears a series of illustrations depicting the process the prisoners underwent on the horrific path to execution, starting from their arrival at the camp, under the title: “The Nazis’ Death March.” It states:
1. From all across occupied Europe, human cargo is brought to concentration camps for extermination. 2. They undress for a “frightening” bath. Their clothes are stolen and sent to Germany. 3. The relaxing bath is only meant to open their pores for quicker poisoning. 4. Afterwards, they are led into a sealed room where, to their surprise, “Zyklon” gas suffocates them. 5. The Nazis plunder the victims’ gold teeth. The bodies are burned by the hundreds of thousands in rows of German-built death furnaces. The ashes are sold for use as fertilizer.

The report throughout is accompanied by harsh photos of Nazi crimes, including: a woman tortured and murdered by the Nazis in Kerch; hanging corpses of individuals executed by the Nazis in Russia; the crematoria in Lublin; human skeletons thrown into a ditch before the arrival of the Russian forces at Auschwitz; victims of the Nazi starvation program in Poland; German officers executing Soviet civilians by shooting; corpses of victims in Rostov; and more. On the cover, there is a declaration by General Eisenhower about bringing the Nazi criminals to justice: “Leaders of the Army and Party, the Gestapo, and others suspected of crimes and atrocities will be judged… and will meet their punishment…”

Extremely rare. Only one copy listed in the WorldCat global library catalog, at the Hamilton Library, University of Hawaii.
