“Enemy Ears Are Listening” – Official Poster from the U.S. Government Printing Office, 1942.
The poster features the figures of Axis leaders Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini: the leader of Fascist Italy, and Hideki Tojo: the Prime Minister of Japan for most of World War II and a leading figure of the Axis powers. The purpose of the poster was to warn the public against espionage or providing information to the enemy. Such posters were widespread in Allied nations, especially in the United States and the United Kingdom, as part of a propaganda effort to raise awareness about information security.
