The postcards are captioned on the reverse, depicting significant moments from the liberation of Paris in August 1944, including: August 19, 1944 – The F.F.I. (French Forces of the Interior) seizing the district and turning it into a stronghold. Barricades near the district. The arrest of a German truck, with its occupants taken as prisoners. F.F.I. fighters disarming German prisoners and taking them captive. Dead German soldiers lying in the streets.

Captured German officers. The crowd cheering for General de Gaulle at the Hôtel de Ville. General de Gaulle at the Arc de Triomphe, and more.
