Around appears the story of the Wandering Jew – one day in a town in Paris appeared a bearded man that “we had never seen before”, the host invites him to sit but the Jew remains standing “I cannot sit”, he says, as part of the decree placed upon him to wander forever, and the old Jew tells his story – “I have been wandering the world for the fifth time, everyone around me is dead and I am still alive…”.
